The Sun Will Melt

at the point where my restaurant ends.
Looking down to the street

The birds chirp away,
the cars and bikes murmur,
sometimes louder.
Steel banging in the distance,
rain will come this afternoon.
Until then, the sun will melt
those with pale skin.
