Over the weekend, I celebrated the 10th Anniversary of VLV AND the launch for my new Vegan Athletes Book.
It was a wonderful night with great food, great people, great music from Des (Step it Up), and a great vibe!
The days before had been filled with preparation and getting everything together for the event. One of the things Mum was in charge of was packing the goodie bags up. Here they are filled with Pura Veda, Prana ON, Vegan Easy & VLV! goodies:
Renata, Genevive, Mum and myself had been making all the vegan meals for the night, and Taysha made the cheese for nibbles. We were holding the event at the Albion Peace Centre in Windsor - where we had our 2nd (condensed) Green Earth Day all-vegan environmental festival.
Along with the ladies mentioned above, Sam and Corinne, along with my sister Louise and her son Blake joined us to help set up, and were there for pack up as well. These things are always such a lot of work. I always say to myself my next event/s are going to be smaller (read: easier), but they are always a lot of work. Prep, set up, the actual event, and then the pack up, and clean up...
Photos are from Gwen & Lou, Harry, Taysha, Corinne, and Billy.
The gals in the kitchen:
I had posted out the menu earlier in the day, and there was still a lot to get ready. Here's what you missed out on if you couldn't make it:
After the set up of the area, we were ready for the guests. Here's Sam at the entry:

All the guests received a goodie bag - here's the pic of Harry's own bag:
The first vegan goodies for the guests to try were Taysha's VERY well received oat-based cheese:
Here's some photos when people were arriving:

I gave a speech, and Billy also gave a speech about how great I am (!)
My good friend Crystal came from Warwick to the event. We studied Naturopath together and graduated over 10 years ago. It was great to see her and some other long-term friends who I haven't seen for years.
Here's the dessert spread - I'm trying to get in the pic, but Corinne is focused on the food!
I made choc beet cake, raw berry cheesecake, brownies, protein balls, and there was also a fruit platter.
A pic Billy took of me eating a brownie:
It was great to take the time to be in the moment, and acknowledge two major goals achieved with 10 years of VLV and the 4 years it took to create the Vegan Athletes Book.
Thanks to all who came to the party, and a special thanks to all who have supported myself and VLV over the past 10 years - here's to the next phase!
