The Sun Will Melt

The wires cross and meet
at the point where my restaurant ends.
Looking down to the street
of many tourists and travellers.
The birds chirp away,
the cars and bikes murmur,
sometimes louder.
Steel banging in the distance,
rain will come this afternoon.
Until then, the sun will melt
those with pale skin.
